About
I call myself a Motherhood Story Coach because I believe that discovering, exploring and clearing the stories and interpretations we carry about motherhood shifts us into greater freedom not only for our journey to motherhood, but in all areas of life. I define freedom as the desire and capability to make choices from that individual place of deeper knowing, unencumbered by the should’s and could’s of cultural clutter.
My path to find my own freedom started because my life didn’t work out as imagined, especially in the area of motherhood. Officially childless at 42, I battled deep grief and anxiety for years. Unraveling my own stories and interpretations is what eventually unlocked my ability to stand in the power of my humanness and create space for a new version of my life.
Along the way I learned that I had been carrying a jumble of contradictory messages about motherhood. My feminist mindset labeled it “career killer and entrapment” while another part of me was convinced motherhood was the key to belonging that would legitimize me as a human being and a woman in society. What emerged, once I moved through most of the grief, was a new relationship to the concept of motherhood, one that separated it from my identity and redefined it as a chosen experience rather than a lifeline to personal fulfillment.
I am here to create/enhance 2 courses:
With Sarah Kowalski - we are merging our worlds - motherhood and childless to create a course on "Do I Want To Be A Mom?" This course focuses on understanding the unconscious narratives and assumptions about motherhood you carry so that you can get clarity on whether and why you want to be a mom. No matter what choice you make, you will leave feeling at peace with the choice--confident that you can live a fulfilling life as a human and a woman. Focus on making a clear decision rather than leaving it up to chance or circumstance.
Enhance my current course titled Blow Up the Clock. Blow Up the Clock helps women explore and transform the hidden messages and meanings they have attached to motherhood so they can create their own freedom and take full ownership of their journey, outside of their own brand of cultural clutter. Women walk away with greater peace of mind and energy to take forward-moving action.
